Dark Bronze, Black, White and Gray, all in a durable polyester powder coat. Dark Bronze and Black are the most common choices for parking lots and site lighting because they match most outdoor fixtures. White and Gray suit modern buildings and light-colored exteriors. For a uniform look, pick the same finish as your fixtures.
The pole ships as one piece with the base plate welded on. It includes: the anchor bolts a removable base cover that hides the anchor bolts and nuts a removable pole cap a 3" × 5" hand hole with cover Fixtures and brackets are sold separately.
Choose the pole top option that matches your fixture: Drill mount: the pole is drilled for 1 fixture (D1), 2 fixtures at 90° or 180° (D2), 3 fixtures (D3) or 4 fixtures (D4). This suits fixtures with an arm or bracket. Tenon mount: a tenon on top of the pole for slip-fitter and post-top fixtures. Sizes are 2-3/8" OD × 4" (T2), 2-7/8" OD × 4" (T2.5), 3" OD × 5" (T3) and 4" OD × 6" (T4). Check your fixture's spec sheet for its mounting type and, for slip-fitters, the tenon size it fits
Add up the EPA of every fixture and bracket you plan to mount. Each fixture's EPA is on its own spec sheet. Compare the total with the EPA in the Specifications tab. Your total should be equal to or lower than the pole's rating. The listed EPA is rated at 120 mph wind with a 1.3 gust factor, a conservative rating. In areas with lower design wind speeds, the pole can carry more fixture area; contact us for ratings at 80, 90 or 100 mph. If your total is too high, choose a shorter pole, a larger shaft or a 7 gauge pole.
Gauge is the steel wall thickness. A lower number means thicker steel. 7 gauge (about 0.18") is roughly 50% thicker than 11 gauge (about 0.12"), so a 7 gauge pole carries more fixture weight and wind load at the same height. Choose 7 gauge for taller poles, several fixtures per pole or windier sites. Some 7 gauge poles also use larger anchor bolts, so check the Specifications tab before you pour a new foundation.
The base plate has slotted bolt holes, so it fits a range of bolt circles instead of one fixed size. The Bolt Circle line in the Specifications tab shows the range this pole fits. If your existing bolt circle falls inside that range and your anchor bolts are the same diameter, the pole should line up with your foundation.
The hand hole is 14" above the base, giving easy access for wire connections and service. Wires run up through the inside of the pole to the fixture.
Choose the EPA rating that matches your site's design wind speed. Some locations have special wind conditions that can make poles vibrate, causing metal fatigue over time. These conditions vary from site to site and can't be predicted or guaranteed by any pole manufacturer. For high-wind, coastal or exposed sites, have a local engineer review the pole choice and foundation design for your site.
