Description

The ALS-SB-P2-500W-5K-III-BZ-HV is a 500-watt LED area light designed for large commercial and industrial sites that require very high light levels and a 277–480V input. This model delivers approximately 75,000 lumens at 150 lumens per watt, making it a strong LED replacement for 1000W+ metal halide fixtures on tall poles and wide pole spacing.

The fixture uses a one-piece die-cast aluminum housing with a bronze (BZ) powder coat finish. The cast aluminum body and integrated heat-sink fins provide efficient thermal management, keeping LED junction temperatures low and supporting long service life in continuous night operation. The UV-resistant finish and corrosion-resistant construction make it suitable for distribution centers, industrial yards, large parking lots, and other demanding exterior applications.

High-efficacy Lumileds LEDs are paired with a 277–480V high-voltage LED driver to achieve the 150 lm/W performance level. The HV driver is specifically designed for 277–480VAC, 50/60 Hz electrical services commonly found in commercial and industrial facilities. It provides stable operation across the full 277–480V range and includes 0–10V dimming, allowing integration with standard control systems for stepped or continuous dimming, load shedding, and energy management.

This model is 5000K (5K), a cool white color temperature typically used for parking lots and security lighting where maximum visibility and contrast are required. The fixture uses a Type III optical distribution, designed for perimeter poles, parking rows, and drive lanes where forward throw and lateral spread are needed. The precision-molded lens system improves uniformity and reduces hot spots and dark areas compared to legacy HID fixtures, often without changing existing pole locations.

The ALS-SB-P2-500W-5K-III-BZ-HV uses the larger housing in the series, with approximate dimensions of 25.98" x 12.95" x 2.68". The low-profile design helps manage wind load while delivering a very high lumen package. Multiple mounting options are available, including slip fitter, arm mount, trunnion, and yoke mounts, giving contractors flexibility for both new installations and retrofit projects on square or round poles.
